I filled out information online to apply for grants on Wednesday. That night I received a call saying that I had been approved for a grant for $7,500.00. I was given a contact phone #202-738-1978. The name of my first contact at that number was Mary. I was told that I had to go to Walmart and pay a $290.00 deposit, then they would run around and they would reimburse it with the grant money making my total $7790.00 by money gram. They had me buy a green dot money pack which cost me $5.00 more. Then I read the number on the back to them and stayed on the phone with them until the purchase could be confirmed. Then they told me that another person would call me back with the confirmation # to put on the money gram form. After over an hour on the phone I was told that the state I live in we're charging me a transfer tax that came to $600 more. The second phone # 425-296-7936 and the two people I spoke with were named Leslie and Elena Vavis. Elena wasn't at all nice. When I told her that I had no more money to last 2 weeks she said " oh well" and refused to give me back the $290 I had given them and told me the money was already lost if I didn't come up with the additional $600.
