After ordering a camera for $200 less than anywhere else on the internet, I received no shipping info from AJ Richies and as unable to reach anyone at their customer service on multiple occasions. I thought I had been scammed and initiated a dispute with my credit card fraud division.

HOWEVER, I finally got through to a customer service rep who explained to me the AJ Richies business plan: make a profit as a middle man ordering products wholesale (often from Japan), importing them, and shipping them to customers once they are received stateside. They have very few employees (hence slow turnaround times and inept customer service) in order to keep profit margin. They also make the most of their profit off of trying to up-sell customers on the phone following your order.

In the end, I received exactly what I had ordered: a Canon T4i Rebel in a sealed factory box with a 1-yr warranty. It works perfectly and I did save hundreds of dollars over any other brick-and-mortar or online vendor.

My personal cost for this savings: having to wait over twice as long as AJ Richies claimed for delivery (~45 days vice 10-15 business days) and many days of doubt hoping that the camera would indeed finally come.

I would completely use AJ Richies again...next time just with my expectations managed as to exactly what the company will deliver: the right product at a great product, just on their own timeline. I'll also have to stiff arm an aggressive salesman trying to sell me a ton of stuff at inflated prices on top of my original order.
