This number called my cellphone a few minutes ago and when I answered it sounded like a telemarketer call. I listened for a minute and the man (with what sounded like and Indian accent) said that he was in D.C. and I was 'chosen' to receive $9000 in a federal grant to do with whatever I pleased because I had payed my bills on time and haven't filed for bankruptcy. (I have no bills in my name.) I immediately knew it was a scam so I listened for more detail to try to figure out who this was. He told me that my money was in a warehouse in New York and he was going to give me an ID number and transfer the call in order to receive the money. He also told me that I could get the money in a number of ways: any checking account, saving account, or online bank account. I would have to give my bank account information to get the money within 45 minutes. I told him I wasn't dumb enough to fall for such a blatant scam and I hung up the phone. I looked up the number and there have been MANY complaints against this number with the same scam. Please be careful and don't fall for it and please someone catch these culprits!
