This company called me telling me I had won a luxury watch, and long-running magazine subscriptions. I was asked for credit card information. When I asked for company and contact information and if they would put the winning offer in writing for me before I "paid," they told me that the credit card information was safe with them. However, I never was told who I was dealing with and how I could contact them. I was told that this information would only be provided AFTER I provided the credit card information (and in the mail).
I believe this activity to be very questionable and definitely not "up front." Why would any legitimate company ask for credit card information and not be willing to give contact information. By the way, the number they called on was 000-000-0000. Red flags anyone?
