Like Jim , I also answered an ad about an iphone 4s for sale and the person said she was now in Calgary and could send me the phone thru collect-plus canada . She sent me their link and it looked like a very serious company...i could receive the phone and look at it before the money was supposed to be released .. i paid with western union to a guy in the UK called Gerhard Hafner .
Received an email with an invoice number US1803950481CA, and was supposed to receive the phone this morning but got a bit suspicious when the tracking number could not be followed , then i went to check collect plus online and found your site with the complaints .... Cant believe i got scammed... .!! This looked fairly safe because they gave you time to check the item ... But i should have known when the money was sent to the UK....
I had already answered this kind of ad in June, didi not buy the item but the person under an other name also said she was now in Canada. They list on NYC craiglist..
Anything you can do to get my money back? Christine

Why is Craigslist still running these ads? We responded to an add for a MacBook Air for sale. A fictisious Adrianna Ensign responded and detailed the same story as living in Canada.
The Collect+ looks REAL. It is a very good forgery. We Goggled the Company and called. We discovered the Company was only valid in the UK. We were instructed to remit $300 US to a Gerhard Hafner in the UK. Why would we not remit to the seller?
Many facts did not add up. On the Invoice, no S/N and Year of Mfg was listed. This is very easy to obtain on an Apple.
We did NOT send any money. We need to report this to Craigslist. BTW, Craigslist is a haven for scam.... -
