Got a call from someone at the number 347-478-6810 that said my loan had been approved and gave me an approval number to call 347-478-7862 for confirmation and finalization of my loan. I asked if I was approved why this person wouldn't call me himself. but I called the number and the guy told me my loan had been approved and that the funds would be deposited within the hour, but that first I had to prepay the first months loan payment and a security deposit. He gave me this speech about a federal mandate requiring the deposit. he kept swearing up and down it was legit and his company is not a scam.. deep down i felt it wasn't rite but i went along. i went to rite aid and purchased a green dot money pak card. i even mentioned this seems even more fishy because I've dealt wit green dot and if I'm being scammed they are not responsible for returning lost money. he never hesitated and ensured he was legit.. he stayed on the phone for 20mins for a process that was only supposed to take 10 anyway. then said he has to call the approval dept before they close and he would give me a callback in 15mins. I asked to remain on hold since I had already been on the line for an hour. What was 10 more minutes. He then said I'm wasting his time and he has more applications to finalize and would callback then hung up. I haven't heard from him since. When I called back it rung and went to voicemail. Now when I call it goes straight to voicemail. I'm not surprised I had a feeling and it's not the money that bothered me. Yes I could've done without wasting $200 on a scam, but the scary part is they have all my bank information and old address. So this morning I went and closed that account and opened a new one. Please be careful with whom you give your information too. If you have a bad feeling about it usually it's right!
