Got a phone call from 323-489-7472 (CA) claiming my computer was sending error messages to their server. First off they called me by my maiden name which I have not used in over 8 years then they tried to tell me whatever I was working on right now is infected, unfortunately for them I wasn't at home at the time of the call so I knew they were lying. I told them to take me off their list and they tried telling me that they are with Windows PC Server Division and that they didn't get my number from a list. I explained again that I wasn't at home and wasn't near my computer; but that if I found an error when I got home I would call them back and to please give me his contact #. At that point he handed me over to someone else who tried the "hey we're just helping you" line on me but eventually he gave me a return number 315-944-2628 (NY), why would I call New York to reach you when you're calling me from California... When I explained that I would rather pay money to someone I could see in person rather than some hack that is calling me from an unverifiable company he seemed offended (good that was my point), still he kept trying; to which I stated that I was NEVER going to give him access to any computer or device I owned since I did not contact him nor give him authorization to contact me. I repeated that I wanted to be removed from their list and I disconnected the call.
