Given a link to what was supposedly the Texas State Public Safety online renewal with my other items for my Driver's license renewal. Went to the site, had what seemed like normal security for a state website, when I saw the out of pocket fees I actually backed out and checked all other items in the letter. Tried the other web address and was redirected back to this site. Went ahead hoping the fee was merely what was required and part of the DL fees, then AFTER I give payment it says that it is not a part of any government agency. Immediately called their service, received an highly suspicious automated message merely mentioning that their lines were filled to capacity with calls. I'm rather not surprised. When I finally got through to a human I demanded a refund saying I would have NO need for their service. What I got was a run around and only managed to cancel any further fees that I would have somehow incurred despite me cautiously taking the time and making sure all odd boxes that would have caused further penalties had been deselected. Having went on to renew my DL going the long hard way through TX.gov the similarities between how they painted their site and DPS for TX annoys me. Very tricky and malicious.
