My son rec'd a notice in the bill recently from Clearview Electric Co. stating that he owes them
$125.00 for "termination fees". My son has been a customer of Delmarva Power Co. in Delaware for
several years now and ALWAYS pays his electric
bills on time. I don't know if they "con" him into taking their electric service or not but
according to them he is obligated to pay this amount of $125.00. Personally, I think it's
a SCAM. I'm sure if my son knew that there was a cancellation feel from the start (if he,indeed, signed up with them, that he would have NEVER joined them). I think he NEVER did and somehow they got his name/address and by FRAUD - charged him the $125.00. My son has a Disability and is "slower" than most and also can be easily convinced he's very
trusting and I think he fell "prey" to this company! Is there any action we can take against such a "SCAM"????? Please advise. If anyone else has had a "similar" encounter with this company please voice your opinion and/or experience with this company. Is there anyway he can get this $125.00 back.
He doesn't want to have bad credit over something that he (a) didn't join or (b)
did understand the terms of the contract due to his Disability. In other words, someone
took advantage of him. Help any one!!!
