I filled out a survey and was given a choice of three gifts. I chose an iPod Shuffle. I was asked to pay #3.00 shipping which I paid with my credit card. At no time did I agree to a membership with Bidou Bids.
Two weeks later I noticed a charge on my credit card for $49.00 CA. I Googled Bidou and found their web page. I contacted them and had my membership cancelled but they refused to refund the first membership charge because I used their membership benefits.
When I finally got into my account (I was never given any account information and only received my account number when "Margie" replied to my complaint), I found that the "free" iPod had been charged to my account and that they had made bids on my behalf, negating (in their minds) the money back guarantee.
I have been in contact multiple times with Margie but to no avail. I plan to file a formal complaint with Consumer Information (consumerinformation.ca) as well.
