I had my personal computer worked on by a local tech last April and he installed FreeAvast. On September 24, 2013, I upgraded my software protection and was billed $19.99. Recently, I began receiving a notice that said that my upgrade would soon expire. I called Customer Support to find out why I was getting these messages when I had already PAID for the upgrade. The person at customer support told me to go into myCopntrol Panel and remove the Free Avast which I did... now I no longer had ANY protections. Whwen I called customer support again regarding this, I was told that their tech would have to re-install the software to the tune of $119. for a one time service or $179.99 for a year subscription. After arguing with the person at customer support that I DID NOT want a one-year subscription, I finally caved in and said ok. Now after 4 techs have tried to "fix" my computer using the remote control, it is worse than ever!!! I cannot access several of the programs which had been previously running and my computer is slower than ever. I again called and asked for my money to be refunded and I am getting the "run around". My only alternative ti to despute the charge on my credit card and take my computer to a local tech to get straightened out. DO NOT BUY ANY AVAST PRODUCTS!!!
