I RECEIVED A LETTER IN THE MAIL STATING THAT MY NAME AND Lottery numbers. and matched 5 mabers with winning of $300,000. THEY ALSO ATTACHED A CHECK FOR $3,995.00 TO PAY FOR SURCHARGE, INSURANCE, HANDLKING AND SHIPPING FESS WHICH WILL TOTAL $4,000.00. I WAS INSTRUCTED TO CONTACT Victor Lang AT 1-647-708-0231 AND GIVE HIM MY PIN NUMBER TO ACTIVATE THE CHECK SO THAT I CAN DEPOSIT IT IN MY ACCOUNT.

It sounds fishy. First of all, no one answers the phone. Next I noticed the name of the company that the check was supposingly from is Steel Dyanmics, Inc. I search the web to see if they offer sweepstakes. It doesn't look like they do.

Next, I searched for the Check Routing number and found that it's in South Africa. Then I noticed that the routing number is same as check number except with extra leading zero. Looking closer at the numbers at the bottom of the check and noticed the check number doesn't show up on the bottom of the check. It definitely sounds like a scam.

Then I read someone else felt into the scam and cashed the check & lost money answer the deposited check was cancelled.

Just want to share what I found.
