Mojang/ minecraft + Microsoft

I was logging into my minecraft account with my username pangys and put in my password (not to be mentioned) and it didnt allow me on and I know my password because I changed it from my sisters a couple of weeks ago possibly a month. So I went to the support centre of mojang and apparently there was a mojang account which of course I didn't have because I got my minecraft account during 1.7.4 when it costed just under £15. I used my Hotmail account for the MC account so it sent an email to that address. When I got to the log in for the Hotmail I used my email address ([email protected]) and password but it didn't work. I know I don't use it much but I definitely remember my password something was wrong. After a long time I came to the conclusion that the system has locked me out some how. My theroy is that when I first started my Hotmail account it was just Hotmail but nowit has Microsoft, before my 7 digit password worked fine but now when I checked the sign up for it, it asked for a 8 digit password so that might have something to do with it but Im not sure of it. However I don't entirely blame mojang because also included in my theroy is that to get a minecraft account I need an email address. I used my Hotmail, so whatever buggered up my Hotmail has also buggered up my minecraft in a change reaction.
