My husband and I went to hear a sales pitch for a vacation club called Painting Pictures. I twisted my husband's arm to make him go with me. I should have listened to him when he said that you don't get "something" for "nothing". Not only that but I should have listened to my instincts---the presenters looked like thugs. In fact, when they shut the meeting room doors it gave me the creeps right away. THEN, one of the guests caused a stir, for reasons not known to us and started yelling, "this is a rip-off---this is a rip-off, don't do it". They were escorted out the door. I can't believe that I didn't get it even then. We did not buy the $7000. Vacation Club membership, however, I did come home and write a check for $120.00 for the FREE airline tickets, hotel, gas, etc. etc. Then today in the mail we got another request for MORE money for the FREE airline tickets, hotel, gas, etc. etc. Ok, I got it, I got it! Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me! I wish I had seen this before we went to our appointment with the thugs. O well, it's only $120.00 it could have been far worse.
