Same thing happened to us. We thought it was a government agency requesting for data verification and proceeded to verify email, contact no., etc. Now they invoice us for $490 stating that we had agreed to the paid service when we verified our data with them. This was never highlighted during the verification process. We emailed them immediately to be removed from their database as we have NOT used any of their service and they insisted that we pay $490 before they remove us from their database by 31 Dec 2014 so that we do not incur the 2015 fees. We are definitely not paying them a single cent as this is a downright despicable scam. Pls spread the word to prevent others from being intimidated to paying them. Any form of service fees should have been stated upfront before we are being billed! ACRA should not even allow such a company to be registered.

- This company was in the news - see straits times website heading - ACRA warns of fake entity asking companies to verify their details. Recently it changed name to Data Register Pte Ltd. This is a $1 company.
