This is the reply from ACRA, ACRA is investigating. By the way, I had already lodged a police report against this case, still waiting for the police to reply me.

Dear Sir,

We refer to your email of 15/01/2014.
It has come to ACRA’s attention that the entity previously known as “Company Register Pte Ltd”, has changed its name to “Data
Register Pte Ltd”, and has emailed or written to companies that had earlier provided company information to them, to seek payment
for subscription services.

ACRA is in the process of investigating this company to see if any criminal offence has been committed under the Companies Act,
and will take all necessary enforcement action should any offence be revealed.

We would like to emphasise that ACRA has no links whatsoever with this entity. Companies are also not obliged to provide
company information to Company Register/Data Register Pte Ltd. Companies which need to update their records with ACRA,
should do so through Bizfile, ACRA’s online filing and information retrieval system, at www.bizfile.gov.sg. Under normal
circumstances, ACRA will not approach companies seeking payment via email or letter. Most companies transact with ACRA and
make online payments via Bizfile.
The question of whether any entity should make payment to another entity is a private matter which ACRA is unable to advise on.

You may however wish to note that Data Register Pte Ltd is under investigation by ACRA for possible offences under the
Companies Act. You may also wish to seek professional legal advice or clarify with Data Register Pte Ltd the basis on which they
have sent you an invoice for payment.
