Like I've done numerous times before, I went on the official USPS web site to change my address, for my upcoming move. For security purposes, the USPS site requires you to use a card with a billing address that matches either your old mailing address or new mailing address, for the $1 verification charge.

I just happened to look at my card statement and noticed a pending $29.95 charge. Since the charge was still processing, there was no info associated with the charge other than "MOVINGASSIST 8886063176." Therefore, I took a chance and called the 10 digits, in hopes that it would be a valid number for the company who made the charge. As it turns out, it was the number for the company. When I called, this obnoxious female told me that I had mistakenly logged onto her company's web site, after supposedly googling them, and made the change of address transaction there. What?! She went on to say that it will take 7 to 10 business days to be credited. When I attempted to explain that I did not log onto her company's web site, as I had never even heard of them, that changing/forwarding your address can only be done through USPS, and asked what logical reason would I choose to be charged $30 instead of $1, she basically told me that it was my fault, I F'd up and then hung up on me.

USPS sends you an email to confirm the change of address and the $1 verification charge on your card. The email from this fake company didn't include any company info nor details of the $29.95 charge. It only listed your old address, new address and date when the change will go into effect.

Since today's a holiday, my credit card’s bank, including their 24hr fraud dept, was closed. Is it a coincidence they waited to charge you on a holiday?

I sincerely hope that writing this complaint will generate immediate assistance and action with reporting this company to the proper authorities. This company somehow hacked into the USPS site, and has been victimizing God only knows how my people by intercepting their credit card and personal info. Please help!
