They telephoned me saying they are part of windows and that my computer was causing the server problems. They talked me through getting them into my computer, showed me lots of things on my computer using the flag + R that they claimed were viruses and trojans. They ran a program that scanned my computer and it found over 15000 problems. The first person said his name is Andrew Smith and he passed me to another person who tried to get me to buy some software for 150 euros. They then asked me to register with Western Union to transfer the money. When it got to giving my credit card details, I immediately became suspicious as the transfer was to go to India. When I said I would not give my details until I had checked them out, they put me onto her supervisor. All three were asain sounding. In the end I hung up to check with a computer friend of mine who confirmed they are a scam. They have left something called Advanced System Care on my computer and every time I log in the computer wants to change my home page. Google says A S C is O.K. but are you aware they are still operating even though someone already has sent you a complaint? They gave their telephone as 0161 408 8411 and email as: [email protected]
