My husband and I purchased the Vacation Station vacation club for $6395. There were promises and assurances we would get cheaper fares on cruises, which we mainly use for vacations, than we would as elite and platinum members of cruise lines. We would also get a 20% member cash rebate on the "base fare" and there would be no annual fee for membership. Ha!! that didn't even last one year. On 18 cruises we booked through VACATION STATION we only got a discounted rate on 4 cruises. We were getting our rebates within a 30 day time frame. Then in August of 2013 we received a letter if we wanted to continue getting our member rebates we would have to pay $199 annual membership, which our signed contract said we would never have to pay membership fees. Which we paid, fools that we were, and then in October we were informed our 20% rebate was going to 15%. At that time we were also informed, "because of such a huge demand for member rewards" the time for payment would go from 30 to 60 days - temporarily. Then in January of 2014 we were told the rebate time would be going to 90 days. I sailed on Oct. 29, 2013, submitted my member request on Nov. 11, 2013 and finally after calling the rewards department weekly I received my payment on Feb. 14, 2014. Now, they are changing the format of how they pay the rewards by telling us they do not pay the rebate on non-commissioned fees. On all previous rebates they never inferred anything about non-commissioned fees. In March of 2013 we went back to Charleston to 229 Meeting Street and spoke with the person in charge and were told we could write to the Board of Directors and get their response to our concerns. In April of 2013 and again in September 2013 we wrote letters to the Board of Directors, Vacation Station, 1662 Savannah Hwy, Suite 150, Charleston, SC 29407 and to date they have not acknowledged receipt of either of those letter. The address was supplied by a member services representative as well as the manager of the Meeting Street store front. As of Feb. 21, 2014 I spoke with a travel services manager who claims she will take all of my concerns to the Board of Directors personally. I was also told by a Vacation Station representative the contract we signed has a clause which reads, "The Vacation Station may add new benefits at any time, and may replace current suppliers, or benefits as needed." Which means basically they can change "THE REBATE PROGRAM" to fit THEIR needs. I do not recommend anyone getting involved in this ponzi scheme.
