I was trying to sell my 2010 Jeep on Craigslist and had been initially corresponding with the email bollyjoe@gmail, and a person going by the name Jessica Cole. She stated she was a marine on deployment (which there is a lot of in my area) and wanted to purchase the vehicle as a gift. She would not give details as to her unit/location when asked which was a red flag from the beginning considering I was trying to make small talk and got no response or the response was rude and question still ignored.
She then stated there was problems with her accessing her online accounts but could transfer through Paypal so I created an account. After still corresponding with her, she then stated there was a problem with the payment to her pickup agent and that I would have to send the agent $900 and they would include extra $100 for Western Union fees (which I know isnt the amount for fees for $900 transfers) So they ended up somehow emailing me through a paypal web address saying that an amount was pending and I had to verify amounts by linking my bank accounts through Paypal. I called Paypal customer service to verify and they contradicted everything that I had been telling them was said through the previous emails. THEY SAID THAT PENDING AMOUNTS IN PAYPAL DOES NOT EXIST, which tells me that considering I was sent "Paypal confirmation emails" at 2am, and checked my Paypal account by 10am and the funds were still not cleared, this is definitely fraudulant.
After confirming with Paypal, I decided to Google some of the information in the emails and found scam after scam. After getting exhausted from reading into the scams, I noticed I had more emails concerning the Craigslist posting. More emails/people trying to do the EXACT SAME THING in different forms. After seeing post after post about the same information used, you would think these (Inappropriate Content Removed) would consider enough is enough. Apparently they need to be put in their place still. I am hoping reporting this will have an affect on that!
