Most consumers will give up and not challenge the charge.
I was in the process of canceling membership. Popup email offered to continue for 6 months at a reduced amount. I agreed; however, they charged me the full price anyway. Called and disputed and was told since I communicated, they could not refund. Of course I communicated with the understanding of the lesser charge. My credit card company is a good one and am sure I will get my money back.
