Lee Schwartz was hired by my husband and myself to remodel a master bath and kitchen. The only references he gave were from vendors, though we asked many times for others, until he stalled for so long that we had to begin the project. On good behavior for three months, then strange behavior with violent outbursts, padding of documents which we did not notice at first, as were are extremely busy people. (No excuse. Always read everything in a document before you sign it; we learned too late). He then left without a trace after not finishing the job we paid him to do. We hired three capable young men to finish it so that we could put our house on the market. We should have taken him to court, but again, we were "too busy".. Eight months later, we received a summons to Small Claims Court from Lee Schwartz aka LMS Builders, claiming we owed him $10,000.00. He lied his way through Court, presented bogus documentation, and was awarded $5,000.00!! of our hard earned money. Found out after the fact that he had "scammed" a few other people in our neighborhood. We will never recover the $15,000.00 plus that he took from us. We feel it important to warn others so that they do not fall into this trap, as we did. We would appreciate your help, Scambook!
