We saw an ad on Google--Fun and Sun Getaways. Very cheap, all inclusive at Villa del Palmar. When we answered the ad (by phone) they took the money from our bank acct. as we spoke, a bad sign. They phoned us back later and got us to upgrade our room and pay all tips in advance which brought it up to $750.00. We decided that we'd add our adult daughter to the trip but when we tried to get hold of the people involved, no one would talk to us. We tried endless phone calls and emails stretching over months but no-one would speak to us. One fellow who claimed he was the manager answered (by accident?) and said "Wait a moment while I check." and never came back. Eventually someone hung up the phone. That was our contact with them. He had claimed there was no record of them getting our money. We had received a confirmation for $378.00 but could not get them to confirm the rest . We phoned the hotel a couple of times but they refused to confirm a reservation saying that it was another group responsible for that. We made between fifty and a hundred phone calls and emails all told. We concluded that it was a scam but as we are middle class Canadians we cannot get a lawyer without selling our house. We had $750.00 taken from our bank acct. for nothing. We were booking this trip in June of last year for a holiday this year in Jan. Tonight a sales person phoned to see if I wanted to book with them again. It stirred me to write this.
