I was trying to use the US Postal Service's website to change my address online, which I have done before, but not for several years. I typed change of address into google.com's search engine, and went to a link which seemed like the USPS's change of address website. For verification purposes, the USPS website requires a credit card and a charge of $1 for this service. I entered my information and credit card number, and when I checked my bank balance a few days later I discovered that I was charged $39.95 by the website "www.mypostalchangeofaddress.com". No where on the website was I notified that I would be charged $39.95.

I was not aware that any other entities besides the USPS were authorized to make formal changes of address, so the possibility that I would be scammed like this never entered my mind.

This website is intentionally misleading people into obtaining their credit card information and charging them undisclosed fees. I sent an email demanding a refund but I haven't yet received a response.
