Two young people, a girl and boy came to my front door and indicated that they were selling subscriptions to books for children in order to win a trip to Italy.Each subscription was worth so many points and they only needed a few hundred points to earn that trip. They both were very personable and engaging. The assortment of books were wonderful and it was explained to me that the books would go to sick children at a couple of hospitals in my area. I thought to myself what a worthy cause and I bought a few books that were to be distributed to the ill children at City of Hope in Duarte, CA. I wrote personal checks for the order (one was post-dated) which was acceptable to the Organization that sponsored this which is Dynasty Technologies-211 based in Phoenix, AZ.(also part of the scam as they never fill the orders). Today, 11-8-11 I went online and found out that this whole operation has thousands of reports of this same "scam". I immediately called my bank and put stop payment on the checks. I am glad I did not give them cash. I am, however, concerned because they have my bank information so I will probably have to open new accounts, etc. PLEASE DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM. I FEEL VERY FOOLISH.
