DELL warranty ended. I started getting phone calls from what turns out to be GEEK Technical support, telling me that I may have a virus. I made the mistake of allowing them to check my computer. They tried to sell me a warranty package. I could barely understand them and thought all this time I was in communication with DELL. When they said it was GEEK Support and that they were contracted by DELL. I hung up the phone. I ignored their constant calling for about a month. Then one fateful evening I decided to upgrade to WINDOWS 10, thinking it was DELL- it was virus. Contacting the phone number of DELL support now realizing it was GEEK that said they could not help me unless I purchased the warranty, so I did. They did not help me. I now have my laptop at a repair shop and it will cost me another $90.00. DELL informed me that there were scams using their company name. The CR used the same words as the GEEK CR. Fearing that I may be speaking with the GEEK scammers I hung on him too. I am now fighting the charges and writing a letter to the FTC. DELL doesn't seem to care, but I do.
