This company sales representative contacted one of operations supervisors claiming that he needed a shipping address for lighting materials ordered by a maintenance supervisor also employed by our organization. This order had not been placed but that was unknown by the operations supervisor so he forwarded the shipping address. We received the lighting a day or two later and I compared the invoiced price to what we would ordinarily pay from our local vendor, the cost was almost 6 times as high plus freight. As buyer, I've attempted contact three times with the account/collections manager to indicate that this purchase was not legitimate but my calls are not returned, instead the operations supervisor keeps getting calls to settle the account. The latest communication has been a fax message to our finance department demanding payment in full or return of goods freight prepaid with a 20% restocking charge. Failure to do so will result in the account being sent to collections. This type of operation gives a bad name to all legitimate vendors.
