My application was approved on 7/27/2017 via online application and I received a written approval confirmation from the online application system. they recommend printing it (which I did.. Boy glad I did) then on the 4th of August I received an email that says Welcome to Milestone etc.. your card should arrive in 7 to 10 days.. so 12 days go by.. card did not show up.. So I call them thinking somehow it is either lost stolen or not mailed.. and they ask for my credit card number.. which I don't have yet because it did nt arrive... so I use the 16 zeros a couple of times and finally get through, then after providing proof of who I am with name and social security number etc.. the operator finds my account (can hardly understand them, sounds,like they are in a foreign country) she tells me that the account has been closed by guarantor.. I have no idea who that is, I did close the account.. she says that it was closed because my account was declined for 5 dollars.. I am completely stumped now.. and ask for a supervisor.. I sit on hold for 15 minutes then hang up and dial back in and it takes several trys to get someone on the line.. finally after much consternation I do get a supervisor.. and then I learn that the account was closed by the credit grantor for non payment.. I am dumbfounded.. i never used the card.. I never received the card.. but they decided to close it.. whats that.? the supervisor says to me do you remember an opening fee..? I do not recall an opening fee.. then I am told that they tried to charge my checking account card an opening fee.. only there was not enough in my bank account on that day so the opening fee against my debt card was declined.. so since my checking account did not have the 45.00 dollar opening fee they automatically closed my new credit card account.. They didn't want to charge the 45.00 dollars against the credit card account they gave me.. they wanted it out of my checking account.. UPFRONT .. but they don't tell you this while you are applying.. (maybe it is buried in the 5 pages of fine print somewhere on the cardholder agreement) This company has a questionalble process at best.. at worst they are a fee heavy overcharging high rate alternative.. but now they have damaged me with a new inquiry and new account that was closed by credit grantor which are all negatives to my credit score so not only did I not get an account.. it will now damage my credit and hurt me in the ability to get approved for a different account with a different credit card issuer.. STAY AWAY FROM MILESTONE THEY HAVE A FLAWED SYSTEM AND IF THEY CANT GET 45.00 DOLLARS IN FEES UPFRONT THEY WILL CLOSE YOU OUT AND NOT EVEN BOTHER TO NOTIFY YOU
