I would like to thank everyone who posted a complaint about Eastpoint Funding Partners. I am so sorry that you were scammed by this group, but you saved me from losing a $708 deposit. For this, I am truly grateful to you. Like all of you, I was also told that I would be given a $5000 loan at 8% by Tyler B. Keating. He seemed very professional, and someone I could trust. When he first contacted me, he mentioned the loan application I filled out online. I had just filled out an application for Eastern Bank so I didn't question anything. I talked to him about some apprehension I had since someone had stolen my information from a payday loan site several months ago. Since then, I had unauthorized charges from my bank account, and people calling me claiming they were serving me court papers from unpaid credit accounts. It was to the point where I had to file a police report to end such scams. This loan would have been an answer to all of my financial worries and to give me a fresh start. I questioned Tyler about my concerns, and he told me I could bring the contract to a lawyer or financial advisor. I had an uneasy feeling about this offer, and I even questioned their references. Suddenly, I noticed there was a good review from a former customer on superpages.com. I thought the recommendation was suspicious because the statement was very vague, and the timing was very close to my e-mail to Tyler questioning such references. Like many others, however, I was desperate. I got a certified check from the bank, and I sent the security payment to the address given on the paperwork. Luckily, when I went to the post office, the clerk advised sending the check certified mail receipt requested. This is what saved me from losing hundreds of dollars. Because the address was not real, Tyler never received the card to pick up the check at the post office. Shortly after sending the check, however, I also noticed complaints on this website. When I talked with Tyler again, he said that these claims were falsified and not entirely true. He claimed that the credit rating of the person reporting the claim had changed significantly, and additional payment was required. Tyler assured me that this wouldn't happen to me, and he was going to expedite the process. I did tell Tyler that I already had the police involved, and I wouldn't hesitate to involve them again if he was being dishonest. He gave me the opportunity to pull out of the offer, but again he seemed so trusting. He recommended that I put a stop payment on the check and resend it. When I contacted him by phone and e-mail to tell him that the post office was waiting for someone to show ID and pick up the check, I never heard from him again. Then I saw additional complaints on this website, and I noticed EFP took their website down. Looking back, I feel the only reason that Tyler did not pursue stealing my money is because the police were already involved, and the post office would have him linked to the fraud. He also knew that many people were posting on this site. I cannot see how people can be so cruel and unethical. The worst part is that he pulled all of this during the holidays. I have also noticed that all of these scamming episodes always occur in the same timeframe. It is quite scary to now know that someone now has my social security number, bank account numbers, address, and employment information.I now will not trust anyone. Thank you again to everyone who has posted. Although you lost a lot of money, you were kind enough to alert others from having the same experience!
