I went online yesterday to apply for a payday loan. I filled out several applications and got several spam emails and one phone call at work. This morning there was a deposit for .05 from iLender.net and then 3 separate withdrawals for .03, .01, and .01. I never spoke with anyone from this company yesterday to authorize anything or agree to a loan. From my research on here, I found their phone number. I called them and after 7 minutes on hold, talked to Simon Peterson (no way that was his real name). You could tell that the call center was overseas. He asked for my phone number so that he could verify my account, then my name, address and email address. He asked how he could help me. I told him I wanted to cancel my application and did not want a loan. He apologized and asked me why; I told him I changed my mind. He tried to hard-sell me, telling me I was pre-approved for a $300 loan, interest-free. Again, I said thank you, but I wasn't interested. He put me on hold to talk to his manager, then came back on to again offer me the $300. I again said thanks, but no thanks and that I did not want a loan. He put me on hold again so that he could cancel my application. He got back on and said that he cancelled my account and that I would no longer be billed and am no longer part of the program. Then he asked if he could help me any further, I said no, and he hung up. I'm doing online chat with my bank this afternoon so they're aware of this fraudulent activity.
