I applied for what I thought was a legit small buisness grant. About 3 days later I was contacted by a Kim Brown, from Washington D.C. saying I had qualified for a $40,000 government grant. I was told to contact a grant prep company called Nexus Financial in Florida. The company assigned me a contract # and a person to assist me with getting the grant ready for submission. That persons name was Rick Allen. I was told to send a certified check to a grant writer by the name Candy Benson for $490.00. I sent the check and haven't heard from them once since. I contacted the local authorities, and they told me that beings that the amount was so little, they cant pursue it. They said the scammers know this too.

- Wow, this situation is similar to mine. I hope we can get the assistance and the real legit help we need to receive our hard working money from our frauds. Now I'm on the struggle and have to give up my valuable items to pay for my bills. It's sad to know they allow these scams to proceed and take what belongs to us. I feel maybe its time for over protection for those that are next on their list! Please stop the frauds!!
