I recently purchased a Green Bay Packers jersey from nfl-offer.com as a Christmas gift. The website looks legitimate, with trademarks and logos from the NFL and Reebok. What they don't tell you is this website operates out of China. This would be a major red flag, but you don't realize that until after you have paid.

Within 30 minutes of making the purchase, I contacted the billing company, asking them to cancel the transaction. A credit for the purchase amount did briefly appear on my credit card account, but disappeared within a couple of days. A day after asking for the cancellation, the billing company sent me an email telling me the jersey had been shipped. A day later, the merchant sent me an email saying 1) my order had been canceled, followed by 2) my item had been shipped.

To my surprise, the jersey did in fact arrive about a week later. The problem is the jersey has major defects, with numerous areas of bad stitching and the worst defect of all being the player's name is upside down. The website said nothing about their products being defects or factory seconds.

I contacted the merchant by email, sending them a picture of the jersey and requesting a refund. No surprise, I have gotten no response. The NFL aggressively protects their trademarks, but with the Chinese government not willing to enforce the laws, there is probably not much that can be done.
