I applied for a job on craigslist for a medical receptionist position. They sent me an e-mail saying that I was a candidate for the position but I needed to fill out a survey before they could set up an interview. They said the HR manager was going out of town and to do the survey right away so that they can set the interview up before she left. At the end of the survey, which definitely seemed legit, they say you have to do the background screening first..it then directs you to a "free credit report" page that asks for your personal info, ss#, name, address..and credit card #. I pretended to do it, then you go back to the main page and put your initials there as if you completed the credit report. It then says thank you and you will hear from the HR hiring manager to set up the interview. At no time do you EVER need to give personal info like that to apply for a job in which you don't even have a name of or know where it is even located. THIS IS A SCAM!! Very upsetting that these people can get away with this. I was smart enough NOT to fill out the credit report info....but other people aren't so lucky..
