I purchased a frozen meat package from a door-to-door salesman named Brent (619) 925-8283. He told me his products were guaranteed. I tried one Porterhouse steak, thawing the vacuumed package in cold water and broiled the steak immediately. The product was inedible, tough, tasteless, and smelled bad. I called the company and asked for a refund because something was wrong with the product. I was told that it was necessary to cook the item while it was still solidly frozen otherwise it would be as I complained. I said there were no instruction for cooking, and was told that all their meat was flash frozen and required cooking while still frozen. I asked if the product contained additives and was told nothing was added to the meat. Later in the conversationi she said, it included only "tenderizers." None of this information was contained with the packaging materials and I was not informed of it when I purchased it. Because I have Celiacs' disease, I cannot eat meat additives including many items that are included in packaged items. I did not think meat would contain additives unless the item(s) were listed on the package. She said it was their policy not to give refunds, but they would exchange the items I purchased with strip steaks that did not contain tenderizer. She said she would call me on Monday, July 18th to tell me when they would come to my home to exchange the items. I do not believe what I was told because cooking any of their meats must be cooked frozen, and she said that is because they are flash frozen on their "unique" equipment. She also said, "all flash frozen meat must be cooked while frozen." I replied I had never cooked meat while frozen, flash frozen or not. I became ill after eating that steak even though I ate a very small amount and also had diarrhea the next day. I am certain this is a scam to sell inferior products, and I do not doubt they are receiving many complaints from their customers.
