A indian accent woman called and said that they were just notified that my computer had just been infected with a virus. The phone connection was so bad that every other word was dropped. She claimed that she was from Microsoft support. She tried to have me log into www.teamviewer.com (at least I think that was it) so they could help. After I refused to login to any website that I do not know -or- to trust anyone who just calls out of the blue, she had someone else call me. Before they called back, I ran my scanners and everything was fine. We have 2 programs running to protect from viruses, so I was even more cautious. They called back but the phone connection was only a little bit better. He told me that they were going to fix my virus. We have more than 1 computer and I ask which computer was infected. It was the "Husband Name" computer. WRONG, our computers aren't named like that. How did you say I recieved the virus? They thought maybe through e-mail. Wrong again, I only accessed those e-mails that I get everyday and none had any attachments. After awhile, the connection got so bad that he told me to call him back at 1-347-480-1148 at Windows Solution World in Brooklyn, NY. After checking the internet on the safety of the above company, I am positive that they would have placed a virus on our system just to get paid to remove it. Both my computers had a full scan for viruses, spyware, etc. and they came out clean. They are both running without any problems. If someone calls out the blue wanting information, always ask to call them back and get all the information about them and then CHECK them out!!!
