I saw the perfect job online & I received a response from my resume saying "hello applicant" that I was a perfect candidate and that I just had to do the application process. THe app process entailed obtaining a print out of my credit report from freecreditscore.com which was not free-$14.95- and also signing up for a reload able credit card saying because they want a responsible person who would have a company card.
I did both of these things after filling out the questionnaires as well.
I emailed Jessica Smith back, Nancy from their HR and also Amanda Hensel.
I am so embarrassed. They kept requesting I do different parts of this application process. I got a repeat auto response email to my request for an interview. I wrote I did all this already..
That's when I read about types of scams and here I am.
I am so upset, embarrassed and ashamed.
Please help each other out and write on here when you see these. Sad about the time wasted when it could have been spent looking elsewhere for a real job.

  • Thank you for posting this! I too saw a job that appeared to be perfect. I submitted my resume and received an email from "Kaila Davis" saying I needed to apply on their website. I have registered with numerous staffing agencies in the past so I didn't think anything of it until I was asked to give my credit card information for a credit report. When employers pull credit reports they DO NOT ask the candidate to pay for it. They have companies that they contract with to pull such records. I immediately began searching the internet for links regarding scams. Having been a victim of identity theft in the past and most recently a pay day loan scam, I was extra vigilante. I came across your post and again I thank you.

  • Hi! Wow...I wanted to say thank you, too. I replied to the "perfect post" on craigslist and received a response from Betty Emerson with SVG Fresh which asked for the same exact information you mentioned above. I opened a new web browser and googled SVG Fresh and was surprised to learn there's no website for said company. I did, however, find your post and appreciate you making me (as well as others) aware of this scam. I did not click on the link and agree to their "credit report" because of your post alerting me to this scam...thank you, again!

  • I got this today and I knew right away it was a SCAM.. No company can ask you for your credit score before hiring you. Like someone said earlier they have their own outside company to do that legally. I got this last year about this time. I don't know what their scamming yet but it has to do with the credit report website, maybe they are advertising for them and getting a cut from each person they send. BE CAREFUL!!!
    Dear Applicant,
Your reply is definitely appreciated. We reviewed a number of applications for the opening, and we have determined that you are well proficient for the demands of our job opening. While you are running errands, a company credit card is provided for all business purchases. My company will require that you acquire a recent (past 14-21 business days) credit report. We are obligated to do it as we had some bad experiences with previous employees.

Low credit score will not reduce the chances of getting the position. I have to admit that I had a rather low score when I began. We have a small time span to accomplish the phone interviews, so do not forget to complete the report as soon as possible. Please perform the credit check here: http://freescore360.org/report/?ldas
You can perform the trial with no cost and scores given by them are usually most accurate.
