I received this e-mail today after applying for a receptionist job on craigslist last night. The job was also posted in our local paper, but with a fax number, so I'm assuming that's what they're ripping off:

We would like to thank you for sending your resume to Patterson Recruitment & Partners. After reviewing your initial credentials, I think you could possibly be a great fit for our company.

Our Human Resource manager would like to schedule an interview with you before she leaves for vacation early next week. You need to complete the pre-interview screening before we can schedule an interview, which can be found at http://patterson-careers.info or the career link on our homepage. Your applicant code is 750470.

Please write down your code, as that is the only way you can gain access to your application and employee profile. Once you complete your screening someone from HR will contact you within 72 hours to schedule an interview.

It directed me to a page that looked official, but since I live in a small town with mom-and-pop companies, I was wary. I doubt many businesses around here would use this service.
After a quick google search, I saw that Patterson Recruitment had a few scam reports and decided it would be better for me to pass up any (possible but unlikely) job opportunity in order to protect myself.
Another red flag was that they said I was one of the top five candidates, and as a college student with next to no experience, I'm very rarely a top candidate for anything that requires more skill than it takes to flip a burger.

I didn't fill out the form, although I did log in to the main page.
I hope they get shut down soon.
