I signed ip for a work at home programme which states you have to pay only a fee of 4.97 which was on the 6jan then to my discust I check my account today 16th and find that on the 23 th two transactions were taken from them one £20.10 and the othe 65.99 none of this was stated in the agreement!!! I went to my bank they phoned them and said that they would put in a cancellation request but it would take up to 30 days!? In which I will be charged the same yet again?! Then when asked how I can actually get the money back they said you have to contact us but no wait they don't have email address?! Or an address you can write to?! This is a total scam I'm in debt now and I'm dreading next month when they take more money and I can't do anything about if what's more I can't even get it back???!!!! Discusting and Ive seen others on Here now saying the same thing??!! This needs to be stopped and we should have our money back!!! Angry Lucy 79

  • I had exactly the same issue. Try this number: 0870 8200093. This is their customer services. They told me the refund would take 2 weeks to be processed. They weren't apologetic, but the robotic agent on the other side seemed compliant.

  • They said that the $4.97 was simply a 'trial period offer' that expired after 2 weeks, after which one would be billed the 'regular' amount of £65.99. It is an act of pure deception. If this information WAS on the site where we purchased our courses, it was very well hidden.

The only way you can get out of it with immediate effect is to go back to your bank and claim that your card was stolen. You see, theses transactions are based on your CARD (you gave them the number on the front of the card), not your bank account, and therefore (even though they issue it!) the bank has no power to interfere in transactions based on a bank CARD! If the payment was set up by you supplying your account number and sorting code, that would have been different - the bank could simply have cancelled any future payments, as they have authority of their bank ACCOUNTS. It's important to make the distinction.

What gets me is that our 'elected' representatives in government do absolutely nothing to pr

  • Hi sharlotte. I have had another charge since the bank cancelled my card but they have refunded me the first lot of charges. However the bank rang them up and cancelled the contract which they said was 3o days which I was charged again the bank cant refund that one but they said I shouldnt get any more charges now however if I do the bank will refund them straight away as they have no unthorority to do so now. I strongly advise you to do in to your bank to speak to a manager and try and do what I did don't give in they shouldn't be allowed to carry on with this . Hope this helps

  • Hi Lucy, I used a sainsbury's credit card . I phoned the number 0870 8200093 giveb by TAWE in a post above. The company (based in the Phillipines) said they wd cance and gave me a confirmation number and promised an email today confirming the cancellation of the charge in 7 - 10 days. No email yet but still only early, though I think midnight in Manilla. Updated the bank with the info.

Big Big thankyou to TAWE for the number (XXX) as I could not find the company again (GRRRR). I also thought, if this is such a good opportunity, why are these educated people manning a phone when they could be earning lotsa money from their pcs as ebiz claim??
