I was sent a text message congratulating me for signing up for "fun alerts" and telling me I would be charged $9.99 monthly. It informed me that I should reply "stop" to end the service. I ignored the warning, thinking it was simply a spam text, but when the phone bill came a week later, there was indeed a charge for $9.99 from our lovely Silicon Investments. AT&T is only refunding $6.12, since it's been a week and a half since the incident, so they got away with $3.87.
