I heard an advertisement on the radio for $2000 in free groceries. This sounded too good to be true but I wanted to check it out. When I spoke to the guy on the phone he told me I would recieve the $2000 in FREE groceries and also a $100 gas card just for trying. He tried to get me to sign up for 5 other items and I said ok to 2 of them only because he said I would recieve another $600 in free groceries and also another $100 gas card. He told me that nothing would be charged to my card except 19.95 but when I recieved the welcome packet I would recieve a rebate check for the 19.95 so everything was free.He said that nothing would be charged to my card again until I had 30 days to "try" out my membership. He pretty much encouraged me to just get the FREE Groceries and gas cards and then call and cancel. This was on the 9 of Januaury. He told me within 5-7 days all the materials and Freebies would be there. We still had not recieved anything by the 21 of January so I called them and by the 23 we recieved a package containing advertiements for Proavtiv, fake jewelry, weight loss products, disney vacations and other nonsense. There was also a letter from them saying that in order to recieve our $1000 (not $2000 as originally stated) we would have to go online and fill out papers etc... There was no gas cards at all and no free anything as far as I saw. The next day my boyfriend looks at his credit card online and sees 5 different charges on his card 29.95, 14.95, 14.95, 29.95, 19.95. Needless to say he freaks out and calls the credit card company. The credit card company tells him there are 6 MORE MERCHANTS that have pending charges!!!!! We get busy to work calling these people. We never recieved anything from anyone except the Proactiv advertisements and etc.. One of the numbers I called told me that they were not affiliated with American Value but that we were enrolled and signed up with them through American Value.. Does that even make sense!? We were told we would revieve our money back but really who knows? I asked them how they can be charging people for services when we never recieved any services? She said "well at least you got your money back" Ummm, sorry but I have not recieved a dime back from anyone. This has been one of the biggest most stressful situations I have ever found myself in. God knows if anyone else has our information. I honestly dont know how these people can sleep at night. i hope that someone finds out who is responsible and makes sure they cant do this to anyone else. Oh and also my phone has been ringing off the hook trying to get me to sign up for more " GREAT DEALS" hahaha no way. They got me once ..Never Again.
