Got a text message from Phonetrials saying they were looking for 1000 people to try the new iPhone 5; makes it look as if Apple is soliciting subjects for trial. I (foolishly, it seems) responded; didn't get anything back about testing an iPhone, but immediately received a whole bunch of emails from product promotional sites, which I've had to individually unsubscribe to. Some make it impossible to unsubscribe. I've also been receiving W Magazine, which I did not subscribe to. I contacted Apple and Verizon, both of which denied sending the message; question is, how is this outfit getting the phone number of iPhone users to send these texts? STEER CLEAR if you receive one of these messages--they will cause you lots of aggravation and time as you de-attach from this tar baby!
