We were the victims of a fax scam for LUXURY VACATIONS & ENCORE TRAVEL AND TOURS, supposedly from Houston, TX. When I looked for Encore T&T on the internet, I found more than 1 bs by that name, 1 in the same area. Time: Nov 23, 2011. After calling and talking with several different people, I was assigned ALAN as my contact. This was an offer for packages to Europe, US and other resort island destinations. After a few days, we and our friends decided to take 2 of the offers. They didn't take credit cards, and want to do a direct withdrawal from my checking acct, which I authorized. After withdrawing the money, I called to set up our trip. I received the paperwork and sent the requested money order. A few days later I received a voice mail to call the office for final details. When I called just before Christmas, I got a recording that there was no one to contact and to "hang up". Then I looked up Encore T&T again and found the scam sight. I paid for 4 trips to Cayman Is., 4 trips to Rome for a total of $1600 (withdrawn from bank acct). Also sent a money order for $168 to activate the offer. Sent USPS MO to Luxury Vacations Promotions, POBox 10007, Houston, TX 77018. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to recover the money. Our ID no was 19915353.
