Received a free cruise certificate from World Travel in Long Beach, CA on 5-15-11 for attending their presentation to join their organization for a fee. There were several cruises you could pick from and I chose the 7-Day New England/Canada cruise. I sent in my certificate on 5-20-11 to Ultimate Executive Travel. On the above listed date, they wrote me an e-mail stating I must get in touch with them about my selection.

At that time, they stated I was too late to get on the cruise in 2011 because I needed to reserve it 90 days in advance. Also, I was too early for the 2012 cruise because my one-year date was up before the cruise started. This particular cruise only runs from July through October, and had I known that ahead of time, I would have sent in my cruise certificate later, so I could at least get on the 2012 cruise. Of course, they stated they would not give out any information ahead of time until my cashier's check of $248.00 was received by them.

They did say that if I wanted to pay $1700 for the cruise, I could go on October 1, 2011. I got furious as this is a bait and switch routine, so they can get more money. I told them I was only interested in the "free cruise" which was offered and I was not interested in any of their other ports which they tried to switch me over to. I then demanded they send me back my deposit, but they said there were no refunds. This is total fraud and misrepresentation on their part.

I have dealt with other so-called free certificates which, of course, were never honored, but at least they gave me my money back.

Please let me know what further action I can take. I have already called World Travel about this, but they support this scam company, to protect themselves.
