I received a call from Visa Fraud protection at about 11:00 am EST on 2/3/12. I was informed that several charges had been made to my account within 2-3 minutes, totaling about $2300. The charges were approved on 2/3/12, at 12:10 pm-12:12 pm EST, even though it was just after 11:00 am EST. The charges were paid to "Subscription Merchants," according to Visa Fraud Protection, but they are showing up on my account as "[email protected] Singapore."

I called my credit union to report the fraudulent charges. I was told that they had not been applied yet, but they showed up a few days later. The credit union blocked my card, which was odd, because usually Visa Fraud Protection does that, and it had not yet been blocked.

Now I am in the process of attempting to get the charges reversed, and when I receive my new Visa card, I will not be able to use it because my account is maxed out.

This is the second time in less than two months that this has happened. This time it was my credit card. The last time it was my debit card, but the fraudulent charges were never applied.
