They called me, despite fact I am on no-call registry, said they were a monitoring organization for Microsoft Windows - I immediately looked them up and found no complaints on this web site - they said they had tracked a virus into my computer; that they had access to that information from the Internet routing records, and are licensed by Microsoft to track Windows viruses; said I had a fatal virus that needed to be removed immediately. Since I couldn't find any scam reports against them, I paid a subscription fee that I knew I could cancel if it was a scam, and it was. They took over my computer as planned, then all they did was defrag the computer and erase my caches, run a malware search which turned up two malwares, DIDN'T remove the malwares, erased my history of attack warnings, and then told me they had cured the virus and the malwares. When they were done, I couldn't access my ISP, couldn't get Internet Explorer or Firefox to work; I called them back and they fixed that, but meanwhile killed half a work day for me. It probably won't "cost" me anything except half a day of time, but they should bounce up as a scam if someone searches for it, as I did when they called me.
