During December 2011 I received a mailer from the National Collector's Mint offering "The Last $5 Gold "Indian" Ever Struck by the U. S. Gov't.
The offer stated that I could reserve ONE 1929 Indian Head Proof for $9.95 plus $3.50 shipping, handling and insurance.
I immediately mailed out an order for one Indian Head and provided them with a valid Credit Card number AS INSTRUCTED.
Subsequently I received a notification that the coin was being shipped out Jan. 6. 2012 The shipment was never delivered.
I contacted the Customer Service number provided on the following dates - Jan. 23, Jan. 24, and Jan. 25, 2012 after which I was informed that the coin would be shipped out on Jan. 26, 2012
Jan. 26th came and went and as of today I have not received the coin that I ordered in good faith.
Yesterday, Feb. 13, 2012 I received a message on my phone machine from this company informing me to call them over 1 800 452 4381 for shipment to take place this coming Friday, Feb. 17th.
Today, Feb. 14, 2012 I telephoned the above number, first after 9 AM and a recorded message came on telling me that all the operators were busy and kept repeating the same message for approxiamtely 12 minutes after which I gave up.
In the afternoon of Feb. 14, once again I attempted to contact the Customer Service number provided and after approximately 3 minutes during which the same message (voice box) came on again, there was a ring (Ithought that finally I was being connected to a human being to discuss the issue at hand) but I was disconnected.
It is clear to me now that these folks have engaged in UNFAIR BUSINESS PRACTICES and it appears that they rather do not ship one coin but would have rather I ordered 5 coins which was the maximum on their offer.
I need your good offices to step in and kindly advise this firm to stop their head games and mail to me the coin that they offered and I ordered.
These abusive business practices are ongoing daily and the unsuspecting consumer always gets trapped.
They provided me with the following numbers on the offer received by mail in December 2011: Reservation #D9CMR9B50 and Customer ID#1614440
In their telephone message of 2/13/12 they provided me with an Order #3779941 for reference purposes.
I do not believe that it should take almost two months for a business entity to ship merchandise offered through the U S Mail
when I have complied with the specifics of the offer.
My credit cards are up to date and my credit rating with the banking institutions to which I have subscribed is tops.
