DEKOR advertises that the powder coating on their decorative lighted balusters is guaranteed for 30years. This is blatantly misleading when in point of fact it only lasts 3 years!

We spent over $2,000 on decorative balusters from this company on the strength of their 30 yr guarantee. After 3 years the powder coating on the balusters had broken down under normal conditions, exposing corrosion on all of them.

The company does not honor its written warranty to REPAIR or replace. They reluctantly pick and choose what they will do and customer satisfaction means nothing to them. On our particular batch of balusters the lights failed as well after a few weeks!

We requested $200 (10% of the purchase price) to pay a contractor to do the repairs with the balusters still in position, since dismantling and rebuilding the railings would have been a major and very expensive job. The company refused.

We suggested they hire a contractor themselves to repair them, (we even sent the telephone numbers of the local Home Depot and Lowes) but again they refused. They sent us the paint, (to do it ourselves) and a batch of end caps which were useless, as we would still have had to dismantle the railings to put them on, and since the original end caps had corroded in 3 years it was highly like the replacement lot would do the same.

Beware of this company the warranty is not worth the paper it is written on. The owner is belligerent and rude when contacted in an attempt to intimidate.

If anything goes wrong (and it will) you are on your own.
