I am a local handyman on the side in Colorado. I got a call on 2/16/12 from 630-477-0040 from a guy named David that said they were looking for someone to do minor construction and maintenance on home repos for 30 banks that they worked with, and paid anywhere from $200-600 for 5-8 hours of work on average to do minor repairs for homes that the banks were going to put on the market. They told me (when I asked) that my area had 6 months of back-log work as of that time, and I could expect to do a couple jobs a day oftentimes. They said they just needed to get $99.00 from me for a background check ($39 for the background check, and $2 for each of the banks that they would send my information to). "What credit or debit card would you like to put that on?" I said I would not pay them anything until I could get some more information about their company and background. The lady I was transferred to said "Ok, let me get your email address." I gave it to her, she repeated it back to me...but I never heard from them again. When I tried to call the number a couple days later to follow up, I got a disconnect message. When I researched the internet for them I found nothing but other complaints, and a phone number of 630-477-0041 instead of 0040. When I called this number all I got was a message asking for my card number, and nothing else. SCAM WRITTEN ALL OVER THIS.
