Greetings,

My name is Roseanne Gebre and my mother was scammed by the United Services Group as well, for $4,100. They contacted her over the phone in early December explaining that they could assist her in modifying her home mortgage payments. Before she could even tell them, they already knew her name, address, and her mortgage company. USG had told my mother they were going to modify her home loan by litigating with her mortgage company and by filing a complaint which would hopefully reduce her monthly mortgage payments. Apparently, my mother was working with three attorneys with USG who had claimed their credibility through the Better Business Bureau. I later check on it and they are in fact NOT accredited with the Better Business Bureau but they are listed by them as an unaccredited business. USG then proceeded to bill my mother for their services. She gave them two cashiers checks: both checks were issued three weeks a part from each other for $2050 each. Between checks they were in communication with my mother and they even sent her a package with detailed instructions on how to complete her home modification through them. In the package they also included attorney names and phone numbers to call them back for assistance to fill out her application. Within two days of receiving the package she attempted to call the numbers that they had given her, she left two messages, and they never called her back. She attempted to call them back again and within a week, all the numbers were disconnected. They cut all of their phone lines after they cashed the first check. Her bank said they would be monitoring who cashes in the second check over the period of three months. I will report back with more information as we are currently monitoring who cashes in the second check. I left a report with the San Diego FBI this morning and they said that they would contact me if they have a case as others have reported similar cases to them concerning USG scams. USG may be crafty but they are still messy and they are leaving a large trail for investigators to apprehend them, which I believe will happen soon if enough people report their cases in. Call San Diego FBI to report anything: (858)565-1255. My email is (Personal Information Removed). I am your ally and I am also looking for justice with this situation.

Best,

Rose Gebre

  • Please contact me with information you feel comfortable in sharing. I'm working on collecting discovery that could aid several agencies that are looking into this. I too contacted the FBI in San Diego and awaking a call back as soon as this week. I've been recollecting all communications with USG & ALP and documenting as much as I can to forward along to appropriate agencies. It's deplorable that these people think they can get away with this and I for one will pursue this until such time all comes out and the appropriate people are brought forth to answer for this.
