Responded to a random text offering mortgage modifications. Gave them financial information information. called back the next day claiming they talked to my mortgage company and I was approved for a lower interest rate as long as my information was correct. They told me a date my new payment was due.. my fee for this was 900 dollars payable in 2 installments. They emailed me a contract to sign and said it was the finalization, rushed me through e signing it.. after electronically signing, I decided to call my bank because it seemed too good to be true. My bank told me they would never talk to a third party without my permission and the application and approval process takes a month or two... I immediately called my bank and cancelled my checking account preventing sss from taking my 450.00. A week later I received a letter from a collection agency demanding 900$
